Senior Republican strategist Sean Joyce brings nearly a decade of campaign, policy, and strategic communications experience to HP+P. Joyce most recently served as Chief of Staff for Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry (R-NC). Prior to his time with McHenry, Joyce held a variety of senior staff positions for Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Bill Shuster (R-PA).
As Chief of Staff, Joyce directed the day-to-day operations for Congressman McHenry, Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Committee. In this capacity, he managed both official and political staff and budgets, while overseeing the nexus where politics and policy meet communications and outreach.
Prior to his tenure in McHenry’s office, Joyce worked for T&I Chairman Shuster for over six years, serving in a number of capacities including Military Legislative Assistant, Communications Director, and Legislative Director. Joyce handled both Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and House Armed Services Committee assignments for Shuster, as well as his Foreign Affairs, Energy and Commerce, Appropriations, Homeland Security, Ways and Means, and Intelligence Committee legislative portfolios.
Joyce also has a wide variety of campaign experience including: grassroots, congressional, leadership, and chairman elections. He managed Shuster’s reelection campaign for three election cycles, overseeing strategic decisions while coordinating with campaigns at the local, state, and national levels. Joyce brings extensive on-the-record and crisis communications experience to bear in all his work.
